The Joplin Animal Control Program goal is to help the people of our city and their pets live together peacefully. The animal control officers are experienced professionals certified by the Missouri Animal Control Association and they are committed to maintaining the safety of residents and a quality standard of care for the pets of our city. This goal is pursued through strict enforcement of Animal Control Ordinances, as well as by providing education to residents on the proper care and handling of animals.
Mission Statement:
The Animal Control Division is responsible for enforcing the animal control ordinances of the city and providing education to the public regarding animal control and protection issues. These services will be provided in a courteous and responsive fashion to the citizens and visitors of Joplin, as well as other animal care professionals. The provision of these services will result in the protection of the health and safety of property of the community, as well as the welfare of animals.
