DayCare Establishments

Daycare sanitation inspections are performed by the Joplin Health Department under contract with the State of Missouri. There are currently 47 daycares under inspection in the City Limits of Joplin. Daycares are inspected if they are caring for more than four children that are unrelated to the caregiver. Call the Health Department at 417-623-6122 for more information.

New Daycare Establishments

The Joplin Health Department does not do initial or licensing inspections for daycares. The Missouri Department of Health Southwest District Office should be contacted at 417-895-6900. The City of Joplin Planning and Zoning Department and the City of Joplin Finance Department should be contacted for business license requirements; they can both be contacted at 417-624-0820.
