Our Mission
The WIC Services Division of the Joplin City Health Department provides supplemental foods and Nutrition Education/Breastfeeding support to Women Infants and Children up to age 5 with a medical or nutritional risk in order to promote healthy people in our community.
Our Vision
The Health Department, as a whole, can spot new and reemerging diseases, locate populations-of-interest or populations-at-risk through surveillance and outreach and then deliver quality products and services to meet community needs and expectations.

Who We Serve
Services are provided to Women (breastfeeding, prenatal or postpartum up to 6 months) infants and children up to age 5 with a medical or nutritional risk living in the State of Missouri and connecting States if they work or receive medical care in Joplin.

FAQs
Prenatals are seen on a walk-in basis on Wednesdays 8:30am-11:00am and 1:30pm-3:30pm. Appointments will be offered on a first-come-first-served basis till all appointment spots are filled. Spanish prenatals are seen on Tuesdays: 8:30am-11:00am and 1:30pm-3:30pm.
If transferring from another agency in-state or out-of-state, bring contact number for previous agency and any remaining paperwork to our office (9:00am-11:00am and 2:00pm-4:00pm) and during previous agency’s operating hours. If Spanish, interpreters are available on Tuesdays only.
